A screenshot shows the interface. A comment explains why you captured it. Flow Capture keeps your observations beside the relevant screens, so someone reviewing a flow can understand both the visual state and the change you have in mind.

Speak while the screen is visible

Before recording, enable Microphone in the iOS broadcast panel. Explain the issue while looking at the screen it belongs to, and pause before moving to the next screen. This keeps your narration easier to relate to the journey.

One clear thought is more useful than a running description of every tap. Say what you noticed, why it matters, and what outcome you want. For example: “This label sounds like it saves the form, but it opens another step. Make the next action clearer.”

Choose the shape of your notes

The recording guide offers voice notes organized as screen comments or as a continuous prompt. Use screen comments when you want to discuss individual interface states. Choose a continuous prompt when you want a single brief describing the overall task.

Both approaches benefit from a focused recording. Avoid switching between unrelated features in one sentence. When your goal changes, finish the thought before moving on.

Turn audio into text

  1. Finish the recording and review the selected screenshots.
  2. Open Comments and choose Transcribe Voice Comments when you are ready to process the audio.
  3. Check the transcript against what you intended to say. Names, labels, and short technical terms deserve a second look.
  4. Before sending the flow, confirm that the comments you want the recipient to read have text.

Transcription uses a cloud service and requires a signed-in account and available transcription access. Recording audio alone does not automatically create a transcript. Check your current access and remaining minutes in the app’s plan screen.

Add a thought after recording

You can write a text comment on a saved screen. With Pro, you can also open the screen’s comments and tap the microphone to record a new audio note. This is useful when a later review reveals something you missed while recording.

Keep the comment specific to the screen. If your feedback applies to the whole journey, make that scope explicit instead of leaving the reader to infer it.

Review before sending.

Available transcripts can be included in your AI handoff. If an audio comment has no transcript, do not assume every AI client will listen to it. Transcribe important feedback first.

If transcription does not complete

Check your connection, sign-in state, language, and available minutes. Retry from the comment menu after resolving the issue. The original audio remains on the iPhone; a failed transcription is not a reason to record the entire journey again.
